SenAgriConnect
A web platform for Senegalese agriculture: an interactive regional map, AI-assisted search, a crop and best-practice database, and a producer–buyer social feed.

What problem does SenAgriConnect solve?
Agronomic information exists in Senegal — planting calendars, price surveys, technical sheets. It is published as PDFs, in a technical register, and it does not reach the producer who needs it.
The problem is not producing data. It is the last translation step: from document to decision.
What approach was taken?
The model rephrases, it does not decide. The architecture keeps facts (from documents and price surveys stored in PostgreSQL) strictly separate from their presentation. AI rewrites and contextualises verifiable data; it never produces figures.
That is the only way to make the system usable: a producer who follows a sowing recommendation commits an entire season. A hallucinated date is not an inconvenience.
Location before content. The interactive map is the entry point rather than a search box: a farmer thinks in terms of their region first. Weather data and producer locations hang off that map.
A social feed connecting producers and buyers, with notifications — because information that does not lead to a transaction changes nothing on the ground.
An interface designed for the field. Small payloads, server rendering, short journeys. An agricultural platform that assumes stable 4G serves nobody.
What did SenAgriConnect teach me?
The temptation with AI is to hand it everything. The engineering work consists precisely in narrowing its remit until its mistakes become harmless.
